The mission of the Nonprofit Sector Resource Institute (NSRI), an arm of the Center for Public Service at Seton Hall University, is to build the capacity of the nonprofit sector in New Jersey and nationally by utilizing the resources of the Seton Hall community in collaboration with other individuals and organizations. In addition to its civic engagement and social justice objectives, NSRI supports the University in its mission of preparing Seton Hall students to become servant leaders in their professional and community lives.
In a coordinated effort to affect positive community change, NSRI accomplishes its mission by:
- Providing professional development programs
- Offering technical assistance to nonprofit organizations in management and governance
- Conducting and disseminating relevant applied research
- Providing opportunities for Seton Hall students, faculty and staff to support the work of nonprofit organizations, particularly those working in Seton Hall's surrounding urban communities.
NSRI is an academic-based nonprofit management support and research center that is a national leader in the field, commensurate with the quality and prestige of the University's nationally ranked nonprofit management program.
