In just four Saturday sessions, develop a social media campaign to enhance your brand or your business.

Program Description

The Advanced Social Media Certificate Program focuses on the building, marketing, and management of a social media campaign. Through case studies, students examine real-world viewpoints to determine what elements make up a successful social media campaign. They develop a step-by-step process for delivering a brand strategy to maximize brand continuity and consistency. By the conclusion of the program, students have developed a social media strategy proposal, engagement strategies, campaign goals, a content calendar for multiple weeks, search engine optimization, and a plan for measuring the success of their campaign.  Tools used during the program include LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Hootsuite, YouTube, and Google Analytics. 

Topics Covered

Session I: Building and Marketing a Successful Campaign

  • Research and deconstruct social media case studies to provide an understanding of what makes a social media campaign successful
  • Discuss and explore the Social Media tools LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest via case study
  • Define and develop a brand strategy for your campaign

Session II & III: Building and Marketing a Successful Campaign 

  • Plan and design a social media strategy proposal that focuses on goals and engagement strategies
  • Explore the three key steps of a social media campaign, building, marketing and management

Session IV: Building and Marketing a Successful Campaign

  • Putting it all together, shifting from social media content provider to media manager
  • Creating a content calendar for multiple weeks
  • Using social media metrics as a foundation to your social media strategy

As a participant, you will:

  • Develop a social media campaign from concept to launch
  • Create an effective brand strategy that will drive social media content
  • Have a clear understanding of social media metrics and analytics

Bryan Felt serves as the Associate Athletic Director of Development and External Affairs for Seton Hall Athletics.In his role with Seton Hall, Bryan oversees all athletic fundraising, marketing, communications, corporate sponsorships and ticket sales. He holds a B.A. in Communication and M.A. in Corporate and Public Communication from Seton Hall University.

Felt joined Seton Hall in December, 2001 as Associate Director of the University Annual Fund. He later became Director of the Annual Fund office and was eventually promoted to Executive Director of the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund in September, 2004 and later served as the Senior Director of Athletic and Annual Giving within the office of University Advancement.

Before coming to Seton Hall, Bryan worked as a field producer for CNN where he covered the September 11th attacks in New York City. Prior to that, he was an Associate Producer for NBC News in the Special Reports division, producing coverage for several large events, ranging from political debates and national political conventions. He began his career in broadcast television working for MSNBC as a Production Assistant on the Big Show with Keith Olbermann.

Kelly O'Neil is the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions at Seton Hall University. In her current role, Kelly is responsible for all marketing and promotional materials across the media spectrum for 14 Division I athletic teams. She manages the official Seton Hall Athletics Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media accounts, as well as individual team Twitter accounts for game day statistics and communication. Kelly oversees all game day management and promotions for all home athletic events, including men's basketball games at the Prudential Center.

Kelly joined Seton Hall in October, 2011 as Associate Director of Athletics Marketing. She was later promoted to her current role in July, 2012. Prior to working at Seton Hall, Kelly spent one year as the Assistant to the Athletic Director at Iona College, which sparked her interest in collegiate athletics administration.

Kelly has a B.A. in English with a Creative Writing Non-Fiction Concentration from the College of the Holy Cross, an M.B.A. with a Marketing Concentration from Iona College, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University.
