Social Media for Professionals: Unlimited Potential
Social Media Certificate series workshops take place on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on the following dates: 3/12, 3/19, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16
In five powerful sessions, you will outline a social media
action plan, launch a blog, setup Twitter and Pinterest and learn a variety of
social media devices. Then using
analytical tools, obtain, analyze, and interpret data from your social media
Social media is not a fad it's your future. Social Media for Professionals:Unlimited Potential teaches simple techniques to leverage vast, interconnected web communities. Whether you have a thousand Facebook friends or zero, you can harness the power of social media for marketing, communications, and branding – personally and professionally.
Experienced social media experts will teach you how to stand out from the rest of the noise with unique, targeted, and efficient campaigns. In the first session, you will launch a blog and create a visual map outlining your own social media action plan. From there you will learn to communicate and collaborate through blogs and wikis, customizing entries with various forms of media. Integrate your site with Twitter,
Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, and YouTube for exponential impact.
Upon completion of all five sessions you will earn a Certificate in Social Media. This distinction can enrich your resume and make you a company asset. But how will you know that your new strategies are working? Instructors will show you easy-to-use tools that collect and analyze important web traffic data. Session 1: Introduction to Social Media
Social media gives us the ability to get our message to an unlimited audience in a quick, targeted and efficient manner. The key is to ensure that your message stands out from the plethora of other digital messages. During this session we will discuss what social media is, some of the ways it is being used and outline a plan of action for its effective use. By the completion of this session you will have created a visual map of how social media can be used to enrich your goals. The visual map will also serve as a guide for the other social media sessions.
Session 2: Blogging using WordPress
A blog is the foundation of your social media strategy. Fresh and thoughtful content will engage readers and keep them coming back for more. Share this content through your social media channels to spread the word and build a larger network for followers. During this workshop we will discuss successful blogging techniques as well as how to get started using WordPress.com.
Session 3: Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram
This session will demonstrate how to connect and expand your online presence. Hands-on experience with popular social media tools including Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram will be explored. Participants will learn how to build and apply these tools to fulfill specific goals as well as integrate them into a unified strategy. At the end of Session II, you will have had the ability to design and use these social media tools to help achieve your objectives.
Session 4: Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat
This session will build on Session III and lead participants to further connect and expand their online presence. Hands-on experience with popular social media tools including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Snapchat will be explored. Participants will learn how to build and apply these tools to fulfill specific goals as well as integrate them into a unified strategy. At the end of Session IV, you will have had the ability to design and use a wide variety of social media tools to help achieve your objectives.
Session 5: Social Media Analytics
This session will walk participants through the many free and paid tools, which speak to the analytical side of using social media. We will explore how to obtain, analyze and interpret the data needed to sustain your effective use of social media. The importance of data is often overlooked by those utilizing social media to enhance business development or personal branding. By the completion of this session you will have a new understanding of the importance of data and how analytics can help you have a more successful social media campaign. You will also learn how using analytics can help boost the number of end-users on your social media platforms.
