Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology

All courses may be applied toward a Certificate in Spirituality or Pastoral Ministry, a Master of Arts in Theology or a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry.  We will also accept students on a non-matriculated basis.
A 50% tuition discount is available to those who are employed by the Church or are involved in service to the Church as volunteers.

Admission Requirements

Those applying as non-matriculated graduate students are required to do the following for admission consideration:
  1. Submit the completed application form for non-matriculated graduate students.
  2. Participate in an interview with the Associate Dean of the School of Theology.
Applicants for a graduate certificate or graduate degree program must submit the following for admission consideration:

Certificate students are required to submit items 1- 4. Master of Arts in Theology requires submission of items 1-5. Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry require submission of items 1-6.

  1. The completed application form for admission to graduate study, along with a $50 non-refundable check or money order made payable to Immaculate Conception Seminary.
  2. Official transcript(s) showing successful completion of a baccalaureate degree and any post-graduate degrees from an accredited college or university.
  3. Two letters of recommendation from professional sources which may include your pastor, ecclesiastical superior, professor, ministry associate, supervisor or manager.
  4. An originally written 500-word essay that briefly explains your purpose for studying for a certificate or degree and the objectives that you hope to achieve.
  5. Scores of the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  These scores are required before the matriculation process can be completed.  These tests are not necessary for students applying on a non-matriculated basis, for a certificate program or for those who have completed another master’s degree.
  6. Results of required psychological tests listed in the Graduate Catalog for Pastoral Ministry degree students (ordination candidates and non-formation students). These tests must be conducted at a facility designated by the School of Theology.
  7. Participate in an interview with the Associate Dean of the School of Theology.
