Alumni and Friends

Informed, Involved, Invested…

Mission of the Department

Alumni Relations is responsible for strengthening the frequency and quality of alumni engagement by inspiring them to become informed, involved and invested in the life and progress of Seton Hall University.

Role of the Department

The Department is the University’s primary source of contact with its more than 80,000 alumni. The Department creates exciting and meaningful ways for alumni to participate in the life and vitality of the University. Through this increased engagement, alumni will help Seton Hall move forward and improve its position as one of the nation’s leading Catholic universities.

Alumni Relations fosters engagement in five key areas:

Benefits and Services
Alumni Relations maintains partnerships with more than a dozen vendors offering discounts and special services for Seton Hall graduates. These “Benefits and Services” are available for all alumni, regardless of geographic location. More than 10,000 alumni take advantage of at least one benefit offered through this program annually. The office also serves as the first point of contact for alumni seeking assistance with University services including transcript requests, diploma questions and library services, among others.

From campus gatherings to the black-tie Many Are One Alumni Gala, Alumni Relations and alumni volunteers host more than 50 annual events with more than 4,000 attendees. Visit the Alumni Calendar to stay informed and find an event that’s of interest to you.

Regional Chapters
Alumni Chapters group graduates of the University based on their geographic location. From coast to coast alumni gather to raise scholarship funds, hold social events and cheer on the Pirates! View a complete list of regional alumni chapters.

Alumni Clubs and Volunteerism
Alumni Clubs bring together graduates based on their campus interests, career backgrounds and other commonalities. Volunteer opportunities, from recruiting prospective students to serving on boards and committees, draw hundreds of alumni annually. Alumni Relations strives to maintain a variety of dynamic, beneficial communication vehicles through which Alumni can become better informed about the University. In recent years, the focus of alumni communications has shifted from one-way marketing to the creation of an ongoing conversation between Seton Hall and its graduates. Utilizing sites like Linkedin, Facebook, Flickr, Word Press and Twitter, as well as more dynamic print and electronic communications, Alumni Relations regularly seeks not only to inform but to solicit opinions and engage graduates in more meaningful ways.
