Sports Poll and Get Paid, Eat Pizza

sports pollingThe Seton Hall Sports Poll is looking for students interested in helping gauge the pulse of the nation on sports business matters.

Students are paid for their time, making calls from a computer station and asking people questions on current events in the world of sports. The feedback is collected and then made part of the Sports Poll results—which have been featured on ESPN, MSN, CNBC and in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Forbes, Yahoo Finance and too many other media outlets to list.

In addition to individuals looking to earn some money and learn about polling, the Sports Poll is especially interested in teaming up with student groups looking to raise funds. The process is easy and the results can be dramatic. Group members merely show up and poll and the student group is then paid by the hour for its members' work. A group sending 3 to 5 students for a couple of shifts can make hundreds of dollars per night—and even $1000 plus for the entirety of a 3-day polling session.

The shifts each night are split into three timeframes: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., and 8:30 to 11:00 p.m. Students can work as many shifts as fits into their schedule.

The next polling sessions will occur on:
Monday, February 3 - Wednesday, February 5 from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. each night.

The Poll is directed by Rick Gentile – a former faculty member at Seton Hall and 10 time Emmy Award winner for his work as executive producer and senior vice president of CBS Sports.

The polls take place at the sports polling center on the 5th floor in Jubilee Hall. Students must submit documentation if interested in working the Sports Poll, so the sooner you contact us the better. Those who will be working on behalf of their student group can just show up the day of polling and get to work—but it would be nice if you told us in advance so we can reserve polling space to make sure you have a way to work – and to know how much pizza to order.

If you are interested in working for the sports poll this academic year—one shift or twenty—please contact us by email at [email protected].
