In the University Core, we are very excited to have our second Scholars’ Forum in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition for the Spring 2023 semester. On Wednesday, March 29th at 4 p.m., Jeffrey Morrow, Ph.D., Professor of Undergraduate Theology in Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology, will be presenting on his recent book, Murmuring Against Moses: The Contentious History and Contested Future of Pentateuchal Studies, co-authored with John S. Bergsma (Emmaus Academic, 2023). His prior books include Modern Biblical Criticism as a Tool of Statecraft (1700-1900), co-authored with Scott W. Hahn, (Emmaus Academic, 2020), and Alfred Loisy and Modern Biblical Studies (The Catholic University of America Press, 2019), as well as articles. Professor Morrow was named Researcher of the Year at ICSST in 2013, 2017, and 2022 and was a Visiting Scholar, Princeton Theological Seminary, 2015-2016.

Professor Morrow, besides teaching in ICSST, also teaches regularly in the Core. His expertise in Biblical scholarship is a great gift to us in the Core. The particular topic of his latest book, Murmuring Against Moses…, is especially linked to the book of Exodus, required reading in Core I: Journey of Transformation.
