Gaming for a Cause: Seton Hall University's SHUGSlympics

Seton Hall's Esports Lab with Pirate's log on chairs, wall and computers. On Saturday, November 4, the Seton Hall University Gaming Sector Club will host its ninth annual charity event to support Extra Life, a renowned fundraising program affiliated with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The organization unites thousands of gamers worldwide who utilize their passion for gaming to raise funds for their local Children's Miracle Hospitals. Every dollar raised goes directly toward providing medical treatment, equipment, and support for children facing critical illnesses. The Seton Hall Gaming Sector Club has been a dedicated supporter of Extra Life for nearly a decade, raising over $10,000 by hosting annual events in support of the local Children's Miracle Hospital in Newark.

This year's event, aptly named the 'SHUGSlympics,' has the potential to be the biggest event yet. The 25-hour gaming marathon, held on the Daylight Saving Time end date, offers a diverse range of activities and games for participants to enjoy while fundraising for Extra Life. All are welcome to join, either on-site or virtually, to play a variety of games, from classics to the latest releases, ensuring there is something for everyone. Gamers can form teams or participate individually, and the club encourages friendly competition while keeping the cause in focus.
