Nancy EnrightNancy Enright, Ph.D.

Associate professor of English and Catholic Studies
College of Arts and Sciences

Nancy Enright is an associate professor of English and Catholic Studies at Seton Hall University and Coordinator of Journey of Transformation, the first of three required "Signature" core classes. She also serves on the Core Advisory Board and the Signature Core Curriculum Committee. She has been actively involved in planning and teaching courses in Seton Hall's core curriculum, which includes classic core texts, explored in connection with questions about the meaning of life, death and community. She has published articles on Dante, Augustine, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Julian of Norwich and William Hazlitt. Enright began working as a teaching assistant then as an adjunct professor, and was hired full-time as a faculty associate in 1988. She was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor in 2007. She served as director of First Year Writing for 12 years and has also served on the Faculty Senate. Most recently, she went as a team leader on the DOVE trip to El Salvador, an experience she cherished. She has also been a faculty member on the Catholic Studies Foundations of Christian Culture study abroad trip to Oxford, England three times.

Professor Paula Franzese, the Peter W. Rodino Professor of Law, is one of the country's leading experts in property law as well as government ethics. She has spearheaded ethics reform initiatives on behalf of three governors, serving as special ethics counsel to Governor Richard Codey, chair of the State Ethics Commission, vice-chair of the Election Law Enforcement Commission and as ethics advisor to state and local governments across the country, including Mayor Cory Booker's administration in Newark. In 2014, Franzese was appointed vice-chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Special Committee on Attorney Ethics and Admissions. Nationally renowned for her excellence in law teaching, Professor Franzese was named one of only 26 "best law teachers in the United States" in the book What the Best Law Teachers Do. Franzese is the unprecedented ten-time recipient of the Student Bar Association's Professor of the Year Award, has been named "Exemplary Teacher" by the American Association of Higher Education and was ranked the Top Law Professor in New Jersey by the New Jersey Law Journal. She has demonstrated and deconstructed her pedagogical expertise on teaching as both art and science at workshops and colloquia across the country.

Ruthie McClain

Ms. Ruthie McClain has been a part of Seton Hall University for more than 30 years. She began as an undergraduate in 1980 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984. McClain has held various professional positions at Seton Hall and is presently a bookkeeper in General Accounting. McClain is currently a shop steward and has served on the Negotiations Committee of Local 153. She gives generously of her time assisting students by preparing their tax returns free of charge. Additionally, she has helped with various DOVE initiatives. Her other charitable endeavors include work with the Special Olympics and Order of Eastern Stars where she has been involved in efforts to feed the homeless, clothing drives and visiting senior citizens in need.

McClain is caregiver to her mom, her namesake, wife to a very supportive husband (John), the proud mother of two (Shana and Shonda) and co-parent of two (Brea and LaDell), all girls. She also has a grandson (Sean) who is her pride and joy.
