The Sophomore Discovery Program (SDP)
is a living learning community for sophomores designed to facilitate a smooth
transition to college life after the first year experience. The program is
housed on the third floor of Xavier Hall Tower
and consists of approximately 35 residential students. The SDP program
provides tailored programming efforts and deliberate one-on-one interactions
with paraprofessional and professional staff to strengthen sophomore student
connections to the Seton Hall University community.
SDP is a yearlong program for
sophomores who are recruited during their first year during room selection.
Through the year, students in SDP will benefit from a tailored
program model that has been designed to strengthen student connections to their
SHU community, gain access to specialized university resources, foster their
leadership skills, and equip them with the tools for success. Through the year,
SDP participants will connect with Career Services, Alumni Relations,
Counseling and Psychological Services, Division of Volunteer Efforts, Academic
Advisement, Study Abroad, and many other resources.
The program is implemented
and developed by Seton Hall's Department of Housing & Residence Life. The
programs is directly advised by an RA assigned to the program and the
professional staff in Xavier Hall. For more information on the program, contact
