Those academic departments wishing to supplement their official web presence on www.shu.edu or whose organizations, research projects or other grant activities require a web presence, can request space on academic.shu.edu.
- The communication protocol is SFTP only.
- The server is accessible from both on and off campus.
- Authentication is set via the University's account management services.
Request an Account:
Account generation is made via a request to the TLT Center which creates the web space and the necessary account access. Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description of your needs.
How to Access:
The current tool supported by the University for creating and maintaining websites is Microsoft's Expression Web which is part of the University's standard software suite. If you do not already have the software loaded on your University-issued computer, you may contact the Service Desk to request the software or you may use the software in the University's open computer labs.
Courses in Web Development and the use of Microsoft's Expression Web are offered through the CTC on a regular basis. Review the current available courses »
Users not wishing to use the University-provided software may use the web development software and FTP client of their choice.
Other Available Web Technologies
WordPress Blogs and Sites are currently available at http://blogs.shu.edu/ and are used for both
academic and administrative communications.
This service is also available to academic departments that
want to have an interactive web presence for their current students outside of
the official department pages residing at www.shu.edu.
