Windows 7 Update: Off Campus

As part of the Summer IT systems maintenance, all members of the University community are encouraged to run Windows Updates on their University issued computers prior to the beginning of the Fall semester. This will ensure your PC has the latest security patches and software enhancements available.

If you have a Windows 7 computer, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to Start, then Control Panel, then Windows Update

  2. Click on Install Updates

  3. A Windows Update License Agreement will pop up. Click on "I Accept the license terms", and click Finish

    A progress bar will show
      Windows 7 Preparing to Install

      A bubble will show up on the bottom as well, telling you that "installing is in progress"

  4. When updates are done, you will be asked to Restart. Click on Restart now.

  5. When your machine restarts, you will have successfully updated your machine.
