I have a lifelong interest and fascination with molecular interactions at liquid-solid interfaces in equilibrium and under dynamic conditions. Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is an excellent analytical method for separation and identification of complex mixtures and it is also a very powerful tool for studying intermolecular interactions, kinetics of adsorption processes, surface effects and flow dynamics. My research focuses on the development of HPLC theory, study of retention mechanism on the basis of adsorption from solutions and the study of the influence of specific factors such as salt type, concentration, hydrophobicity of ions on the retention of different analytes.
