Students Making Connections - Making Friends

A group of friends watching the sunrise.Connectivity Group is a weekly group, hosted by Disability Support Services (DSS) and supported by funding from Great Minds Dare to Care program, that brings students together to have a place to connect with one another on campus.

Connectivity Group started in the Spring 2022 semester as a biweekly group. It then switched to weekly meetings once students started joining consistently and were looking for more opportunities. Since the start of Connectivity Group, the students have met on Fridays, from 1:30 to 3:30pm at the Duffy Hall Conference Room (room 65). They always have different types of snacks and refreshments. The first, middle, and last gatherings of the semester feature pizza.

On a typical Connectivity Group Friday, students play board games, with favorites being Uno, Scrabble, and Pictionary. The group enjoys connecting and talking with one another. Many have formed friendships with other students on campus, DSS student workers, and DSS staff. The student workers help to facilitate the connections between students and assure they feel welcomed and at home at Seton Hall.

Connectivity Group is open to all students, not only students registered with Disability Support Services. If you are looking to create friendships with other students on campus or looking to help guide other students in creating those connections, then Connectivity Group is a perfect place to start. We welcome all students to join us on Friday afternoons, no RSVP needed.
