Joint Bachelor’s/M.D. Program Required Prerequisite Courses

This is a list of the required prerequisite courses which must be taken as part of your bachelor’s degree.

Three semesters of humanities, social and behavior sciences (must be from at least two different disciplines) such as, but not limited to:

  1. Philosophy
  2. Psychology
  3. Sociology
  4. Anthropology
  5. Law
  6. Performing Arts, Visual Arts
  7. Religion
  8. History
  9. Education
  10. Criminal Justice
  11. Linguistics
  12. Classics

Two semesters of both:

  1. Biology, with laboratory
  2. General Inorganic Chemistry, with laboratory

Two semesters with laboratory total selected from the following:

  1. Organic Chemistry
  2. Biochemistry
  3. Physics
  4. Anatomy/Physiology
  5. Zoology
  6. Botany

One semester of each of the following:

  1. English Composition
  2. Literature
  3. Mathematics/Science-related such as, but not limited to:
    • Statistics
    • Biostatistics
    • Epidemiology
    • Genetics
    • Calculus

The following are recommended, but not required, as prerequisites for admission.

  1. Ethics
  2. Two semesters of Spanish
  3. Cell Biology
  4. Ecology
  5. Leadership
  6. Economics
  7. Political Science
  8. Engineering
  9. Computer Sciences
